Old Madrid Paella & Tapas Tour

On Sundays and Mondays one of my favorite bars is closed. I replace it by including the best vegetables paella in the neighborhood. (If you don’t like something there is always a plan B).

SUNDAY TOUR

1) Tour begins in one of the very few 19th century restaurants left in Madrid. We will taste one of their specialties: Vegetables Paella. We will pair it with my favorite sparkling wine: Putput Pet-Nat Rosé. Organic Monastrel grapes grown in a natural park.  No sulfites. No filtering.

2) Next, I’ll whisk you off to Madrid’s most beautiful wine bar to drink Altos de Torona Albariño, 2022 International Wine Challenge Winner. We will pair the wine with an ali-oli, caramelized onion and grilled calamari tosta. We will also taste the ali-oli, mushroom and smoked paprika tosta.

3) It is now time to go deeper into Old Madrid through its narrow cobblestone streets and make our way to the highest rated restaurant in the neigborhood.
We will sit down to taste 3 Michelin star Iberico Tenderloin.

4) Now it is perfect time to begin with the reds. I ll uncork different wines from my own cellar. I open outstanding wines such as Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2015 (Rioja).

5) To round off the night we will taste the king of all Spanish dessert wines: Pedro Ximenez. The wine will perform a miracle by turning vanilla ice-cream into rum & raisin
